Turkish Yataghan Sword with silver mounts

  • Dated: circa 1770
  • Culture: Middle Eastern

Large sword with a very good quality heavy steel blade, stamped to the centre of one side deeply with a makers mark. The hilt is and bolsters mounted with finely engraved silver, the grips of black horn shaped to the pommel. The original scabbard is wrapped with green coloured cord or fabric.

PERSPE Gustav Willeit

In the series PERSPE Gustav Willeit creates a parallel universe, showing an environment, which appears real but was actually invented. The viewer is able to recognize the natural origin of the picture, remaining in doubt though, hung in a space between reality and fantasy.
